um not sure if I should say anything here
FROM THE TOP
We start with finding the different color threads to pull off the meticulous embroidery on the products. Our colors are preselected and labeled with specific numbers/codes, so we just need to find the same ones at stores to restock, searching mostly in Chinatown. Being even a single shade off makes a difference!
IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Our community of Hmong women who make these products somethin something
The intention behind the stitching is something, and the products are meant to be simple and durable.
"CRAFTS THAT INSPIRE."
Then we move onto looking for leather , which is used for both the CHAMALiiN brand tag and the shoulder/hand/wrist straps when needed. On the left, you can see one of our interns, Net, trying her hand at engraving letters into a leather strip using a hammer and metal blocks with letters jutting(?) out to imprint.
And there you have it--the final product that you see , wear, and love. Now you know the process of how it's made and the intentions with which it's created.
